Almost like clockwork, Superblonde has another amazing 6 song record out again this year. These guys like to sneak their EPs in, but we caught them this time. “No Wonderland” is a perfect example of their “retro 2090’s, space-grunge, apocalyptic pop” sound and has some of the catchiest tracks they’ve come out with to date. Stream it on bandcamp now.
The first single from Suaka’s third record just premiered on pure grain audio. The Amputees have been hard at work creating terrific music for the past 6 years. GSD : Endgame
Hard working hardcore/hard-rockers GSD have new music! After two full-lengths, multiple records and many tours across this great nation GSD has suspended their blasting operations in the U.S. due to disputes with various government agencies. But before moving on they left us with a record of their last amazing set of songs. GSD : Endgame
In Other News…
Our website is finally back up after tireless efforts from Black Black’s data guru, Jonathan Daily. Were we targeted by the Chinese government? Liberal hackivists out to make a name for themselves? Or a rival record label (i’m looking at you, King Pizza Records ; or, possibly Atlantic)? Regardless, we are happy to be up and running and have a platform to push our records. In other news, Best Behavior seems to be having a blast touring the East Coast this summer, The Earworms are opening a show for The Dillinger Escape Plan, and we are celebrating being 3 years old by giving away free stuff. Through all the hacking problems and Facebook getting worse every day we have taken refuge in Instagram – so please follow us there and look for give-aways and deals!
Earworms Rad Tour
Metaphysical metallurgists the Earworms have just embarked on a US tour! These masters of the Meta-all are on a mission to record their second record at the estimable Blasting Room with owner Bill Stevenson (yes, that Bill Stevenson) and head engineer Jason Livermore (yeah, him too). Their journeys will be swift and cut a path of ascension disphasia through the Mid-west, to Colorado, and then the (shallow)South. Although partial in states visited this tour is complete in rad-ness, thus… the Rad Tour! <= Check their facebook page for specifics and updates and listen here : earworms bandcamp
Enter Never: a Brooklyn-based 3-piece, wall-of-shred. This new star-gaze band is twisting heads right off their necks with their dynamic, crushing sound, and we at MFR couldn’t be more pleased to be releasing their first album. From tender melodies and quiet, downward moments Leanne Butkovic’s vocals soar straight into the stratosphere to rise above her monstrously saturated guitar. Scott Fitzpatrick bashes and trods in perfect support while Chris Marchini grounds it all with the biggest bass sound I’ve ever heard. If this is shoe-gaze, sign me up. Their debut album, Cloudy, is six songs of pure heavy, washy bliss and is available now on a limited run of translucent green 12″ vinyl: MFR Bandcamp store
